Our Baby’s Room

Since we’ve been in the “pink” mood lately (well mostly me!), I thought we could decorate our blog pink too! I know it is very girly, but we’re excited!

We put up our baby furniture this week! It has been fun going shopping and getting things ready. Patrick’s parents gave us baby furniture for Christmas, and we went shopping to pick it out a couple weeks ago when Patrick’s mom came to visit. We are so grateful for the furniture they gave us. We love it!

Here are a few pictures of everything. We still need to add a few decorations (drapes, a rug, lamp shade, etc.), but it is starting to look like a baby’s room! It’s going to be mostly pink with green, white and a little brown.

Only three more months! We’ll have our cute baby girl somewhere around June 17! We’re excited!

Fun Memories!

Patrick and I went to Midway last weekend for Valentine’s Day. It was a fun, relaxing trip! We ate lots of good food, watched movies, went swimming, worked out, got massages, etc. It was fun to get away for a few days!  Most of these pictures are from our trip. There are a couple of my niece, Kali, and some others that were taken a few weeks before, but I thought they were fun pictures.

It’s a girl!!!

We found out we’re having a girl! We were so surprised! We totally thought we were having a boy! We had the ultra sound on Jan. 27. It was funny because the nurse was going through everything, telling us about what we could see on the ultra sound. She said, “Here are her girl parts, here are her feet, etc.” Then, I said, “Wait, so it’s a girl?!” She said, “Yes, it’s a girl. I can double check if you want me to.” She double checked, and sure enough, our baby is a girl!

We were so happy to hear that she is healthy! The nurse said everything looks good so far. We can’t wait until she comes! These pictures were taken the night we found out after the Draper temple open-house (in the post before this). I am 20 weeks along now.

The Draper Temple

Last week we went to the Draper temple open house. It is such a beautiful temple. I’m glad we were able to go. Here are a few pictures from that night.

It was a fun night! We went to dinner at Goodwood BBQ in Draper and then to the open-house. There were lots of people there. There were three churches that you could take a bus up to the temple. The temple is beautiful inside and out (like most temples are). It was neat to be there. It is the 12th temple built in Utah.

Baby Update

I am just over 17 weeks now. Everything is going well so far. Patrick and I went to the doctor last Wednesday, and he said the baby is doing good. He has a small ultra sound in his office, and we looked at the baby. He or she (we’re not sure yet) is growing!

We set an appointment for January 27 when we will find out what we are having. I will be 20 weeks by then. We are excited to find out! Any guesses?

Most of our family members think we’re having a boy and a friend I taught on my mission has told me I will have a boy first for the past five years. So we’ll see! A few have said we’re having a girl (well, Patrick’s brother is the main one, and a girl in our primary class). I’ll post when we find out.

We’ve picked out a few names. If it is a girl we like Allison (call her Allie). This is after the lady from my mission that I taught that I mentioned above. We’re really close, and I’ve always wanted to name a girl after her. We also like Samantha. If we have a boy, we like Tyler.

Here is a cute story… A few weeks ago in our primary class (we only had one girl that day) we asked Anna what we she thought we’re having. She said, “A girl.” Then we asked her what we should name her. She said, “Allie.” We were surprised because she had no idea what names we’ve picked!

New Year’s Eve Party

We had a fun New Year’s Eve. We went to a party at my parents’ house. We played games, drank apple cider, blew up a ginger bread house (it’s a tradition), ate good food and celebrated the new year. It was fun. Here are a few pictures from the night!

Christmas!

Patrick and I had a fun Christmas. We spent time with both of our families. We went to dinner with Patrick’s family on Christmas Eve at the Cheesecake Factory in Salt Lake, then we spent time with my family at our annual Young Christmas Eve Party.

On Christmas morning we opened presents and then went to Patrick’s sister’s house. It was fun to have Patrick’s family in town from Arizona. We spent the rest of the day at my parents house eating good food and relaxing. It was a good day. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Day.

We are going to have a baby!!

as023bg-l1I’ve been waiting to post this to make sure everything was going okay, but we are going to have a baby in the middle of June! We are so excited!

Today is my 14 week mark. I’ve been pretty sick for the past couple months, but I have been starting to feel better this week and my stomach is getting bigger! I have a little bump now. :)

Patrick and I can’t wait to be parents! Patrick changes his mind all the time of what he wants the baby to be. Some days he hopes the baby will be a boy and lists all the reasons. Then, he’ll change his mind and want a girl because of some other reasons. He’s cute. He’s going to be the best dad.

Even though it’s early and we don’t know what we’re having yet, we already love our baby and worry about how it is doing. :)

About a week and a half ago I had an ultra sound and the baby actually looked like a baby! It was exciting! I’ve had four ultra sounds total so far, but this was the first one that looked like a baby.

Stay posted for baby updates…

Halloween Pictures

I know I am almost a month late in posting these, but I thought they were fun. My mom, Patrick and I went to Arizona for Halloween to visit Patrick’s family. It was a fun trip. When we got there on Friday night (Halloween night) we got into our costumes and went straight to the neighborhood Halloween party. It was fun to see everyone’s costumes. Then, we went back to Patrick’s house and they had a big Halloween party there. It was fun. We sang Karaoke, played games, had a costume contest, ate yummy treats and had fun. Here are a few pictures from the parties.

The parties were fun. There were so many fun costumes. I couldn’t believe how creative everyone was. We had fun.

The next day we went shopping and to Kenny’s football game. Kenny is on Mesa College’s team. He is the kicker. It was fun to cheer for him. Here are a few pictures from the game.

It was a fun trip. We always have fun when we visit Patrick’s family. We are excited to see them again in a few days when we go for Thanksgiving! We are staying longer this time from Tuesday to Saturday. It will be fun. I will post more pictures when we get back!

A Friend from Wales

One of my friends came to visit in October. Her name is Rhian. She lived in one of my areas on my mission in Wales. She is so cute. She always went with my companion and I when we needed another person to go with us. After I came home she went on a mission to England. It was fun to see her when she came to visit. We went to breakfast, the temple, shopping and had lots of “girl talk” to catch up on.:)
